- Neither the company’s actions, nor their product’s primary uses violate more of My values than they support
- The company has an internal code of conduct and a process for reporting and enforcing violations, preferably with optional 3rd party involvement
- The company does not have a track record of human rights violations or other massive ethical shortcomings
- There is a well defined career path within the company, or a well protected work-life balance
- The company is either profitable, or has at least 9 months of runway
